Money remittance

This note explains how to enter the transaction type “Money remittance.”

Note: A money remittance may occur:

  • between two persons – common case
  • between a person and a bank account
  • between a person and a credit card

General part of a transaction

The « Internal reference number » may refer in particular to the transaction number communicated to the client.

 

 

From - Source of funds

If the source of funds is a client of the reporting entity, and this is relevant to the report, you must select “Person (Our Client)”.

If the source of funds is from another institution, you must select “Person”. The same applies if the source of funds is a client of the reporting entity but is not relevant to the report.

Under "Location" please provide - precisely - the agency that sent the funds.

If the source of funds is in a currency other than EUR, the Foreign currency section must be filled-in.

Next, you must specify the object type for the source of the funds.

IMPORTANT:

For a “Money remittance” transaction type, the object type must ALWAYS be: “Person” or “Person (Our Client)

Thus, you must fill-in the details of the person who sent the funds.

As a general rule, all known information about this person must be provided by the reporting entity.

To - Destination of funds

If the destination of funds is a client of the reporting entity, and this is relevant to the report, you must select “Person (Our Client)”.

If the destination of funds is from another institution, you must select “Person”. The same applies if the destination of funds is a client of the reporting entity but is not relevant to the report.

Under "Location" please provide - precisely - the agency that received the funds.

If the destination of funds is in a currency other than EUR, the Foreign currency section must be filled-in.

Next, you must specify the object type for the destination of the funds.

IMPORTANT:

For a “Money remittance” transaction type, the object type must ALWAYS be: “Person” or “Person (Our Client)

You must therefore complete the details of the natural person who received the funds.

A remittance can also be made online, using a bank account or a credit card.

There are additional values to provide in this case:

"IP address" and "Connection date and time", using the format: YYYY-MM-DDT00:00:00 (GMT)

Example: 2016-05-30T09:30:10

The object type to select:

  • Account, if a bank account or credit card was used to send/receive funds - Account details
  • Person, if the sender/recipient is a person
