Card payment (debit/credit)

This note details how to submit the transaction type “Card payment (debit/credit)”.

Note: A "Card payment (debit/credit)" may take place:

  • between a credit/debit card and a payment account
    • payment at a merchant
  • between a credit/debit card and an E-money wallet
    • loading the electronic money wallet
    • disbursement of funds

IMPORTANT

If you do not have the full credit card number (e.g. 123456*****3456*), do not enter the transaction!

 

 

Example: Payment at a merchant

General part of a transaction

The “Internal reference number” may be used, for example, to enter the "acquirer reference number".

 

Transaction status

  • Authorized (credit card transactions)
  • Executed
  • Refused
  • Announced
  • Cancelled by the client
  • Pending

 

If the reporting entity knows the time of the transaction, the “Date and time of connection” must be provided. This information must be provided in the format: YYYY-MM-DDT00:00:00 (GMT)

Example: 2016-05-30T09:30:10

 

The transaction date must also be provided in “Transaction date”.

 

If the transaction was carried out online, the "IP address" and "Date and time of connection" must be provided.

 

For a transaction performed on a physical terminal, the location of the terminal must be provided under “Location”. Note: The country of the transaction must be completed on the next screen under “Country”.

 

 

From - Source of funds

If the source of funds is an account held by a client of the reporting entity, and this is relevant to the report, you must select “Account (My Client)”.

If the source of funds is an account held with another institution, you must select “Account”.

The same applies if the source of funds account belongs to a client of the reporting entity but is not relevant to the report.

If the source of funds is in a currency other than EUR, the Foreign currency section must be filled-in.

Next, you must specify the object type for the source of the funds.

IMPORTANT:

For a “Card payment (debit/credit)” transaction type, the object type must ALWAYS be: “Account” or “Account (My Client)

Thus, you must fill-in the details of the account from which the funds originate (credit/debit card data).

Note:

  • If you select “Account (My Client)”, you must complete the section “Related person(s)” (account holder, beneficial owner), and if the holder is an entity, also the “Account Owning Entity”.
  • If you select “Account”, it is technically sufficient to enter the presumed account holder’s name in “Account holder name”.

 

 

 

To - Destination of funds

If the funds are destined for an account held by a client of the reporting entity, and this is relevant to the report, select “Account (My Client)”.

If the funds are destined for an account held with another institution, select “Account”. The same applies if the destination account belongs to a client of the reporting entity but is not relevant to the report.

If the funds To are in a currency other than EUR, the Foreign currency section must be filled-in.

Next, you must specify the object type for the destination of the funds.

IMPORTANT:

For a “Card payment (debit/credit)” transaction type, the object type must ALWAYS be: “Account” or “Account (My Client)

 

Thus, you must fill-in the details of the destination account.

Payment at a merchant

For reporting entities who do not have merchant account data, please enter card payments at a merchant as follows:

  • From - Source of funds → “Account (My Client)” (the client’s bank account data — enter the client under “Related person(s)”)
  • To - Destination of funds → “Account (My Client)” (the client’s credit/debit card data — enter the client under “Related person(s)”)
